Something About Jack
Jack Miller, the kid from Moto3 who’s got himself a ride with the big boys on board the CWM LCR Honda, which was officially launched in London this week, continues to excite.
Does he deserve, or should he be riding in the Premier Class? Only time will tell.
His bitter rival from Moto3, and raining World Champion, Alex Marquez has taken the traditional Moto2 journey, signing up for the Marc VDS Team in 2015. Perhaps we need to ask Dorna how and why Jack is in MotoGP but for now, Miller gives my home town Aussie’s something (or someone) to cheer about.
His lap times in the first Sepang test weren’t great but he was definitely quick in sectors. His running mate, Cal Crutchlow outshone him hands down but Crutchlow is an experienced campaigner who hopefully Jack can learn from.
I for one am excited.
It’s been a lean couple of years on the MotoGP circuit for the Aussie contingent. Two time World Champion, Casey Stoner retired in 2012 and love him or hate him he added excitement to the grid…who doesn’t remember the classic 2008 Rossi vs Stoner battle at Laguna Seca? Rossi finished on top that day and I think he’s a big shot this year. Casey (after taking a tumble) finished second with another Aussie, Chris Vermeulen taking third on the Suzuki.
Well Suzuki are back and we have another Aussie on the grid…there’s something about Jack!
