Towards the end of the first Superpole in the Audi R8 LMS Cup in Zhuhai on the weekend of March 21-22, I noticed something out of the corner of my eye. I wasn’t actually looking this far down the track as my focus was on the cars coming out of turn 9 and heading towards me just before turn 10. My first thought was something was wrong with the front end of Alex Yoong’s car as the glow emitted from the front disk’s heating up under braking ‘lit up like a Chistmas Tree’ and was quite awesome to see trackside.
Whilst not the greatest of shots as things were getting pretty dark by then, I was simply too far away to do the shot justice. I hope you like it none the less.
Rahel Frey won the eight car Superpole shootout to start from pole for round one of the series in front of Alex Yoong (who eventually won the race) and Aditya Patel.
