Lin Jarvis on Toprak Razgatlioglu, ‘we can offer him a place in the RNF – the decision is his’

At Yamaha, efforts to decide the 2023 lineup continue, with the increasingly likely departure of Andrea Dovizioso opening doors to a spot on the satellite team, RNF.

Many names have been considered for the veteran’s place. Miguel Oliveira seems to be a card out of the pack, although the Yamaha director, Lin Jarvis, doesn’t hide his admiration for the portuguese and has even admitted that he has already spoken with his manager.

Celestino Vietti is currently the name that gathers the most agreement, both on the part of Yamaha and RNF, but there is still another possibility that Jarvis revealed: Toprak Razgatlioglu. The turk will test the M1 in a few weeks and Yamaha’s plans are, depending on what happens in testing, to offer him the seat that is now Dovizioso’s. Jarvis passes the ball to the turkish side and assures that only one place in the RNF is at stake, as quoted in Speedweek:

– Toprak will test MotoGP for the first time in june, but we don’t have a place for him in the factory team. First he has to test the bike and then we’ll see what his level of performance and speed is. After that, it’s up to him to see if he has the desire to go to MotoGP, we can offer him the best place possible, which is in the RNF. If he decides not to accept, he has two options: either compete for another team or continue in Superbikes. The decision is his.

The rider made it known a few weeks ago that he would only head to MotoGP with an official team, but if the RNF gives him a factory bike and support, as is happening now with Dovizioso, the case could change.
