Andrew Irwin Air Launch to Orbit at Brands Hatch

Andrew Irwin walked away from this massive highside at Brands Hatch during Round 5 of the 2025 British Superbikes Series. In the final race of the weekend at Brands Hatch, Andrew Irwin suffered a huge crash that destroyed his Honda Racing UK machine.“I was a little bit stiff after the crash at Brands Hatch but it was fine,” Irwin said. “I was more annoyed that we were in such a good position after a strong weekend, and a small mistake had such a big price that destroyed the bike.

Hickman and Todd split from FHO

FHO Racing has announced new plans for the upcoming BSB season, with Peter Hickman and Davey Todd surprisingly not included. FHO will downsize from two bikes to one in 2025, but will stick with the BMW M1000 RR, as it welcomes Ilya Mikhalchik for this year. BritishSuperbike.com says the change comes as FHO team owner Faye Ho “realigns the team’s efforts to pursue further motorsports activities in new markets with BMW Motorrad Motorsport’s support.” More specifically, Ho intends to continue with her support for women in racing, and “push motorsports activities in Asia”. “I am a strong advocate of the British Superbike Championship, one of the most entertaining and competitive series in the world,” she said. “However, with my long-term goals looking to push motorsports activities in Asia, as well as to keep supporting young women with opportunities in racing, I’ve come to realise I cannot fully commit to the previous levels of time that I have given to BSB and road racing since becoming team owner in 2021 with additional commitments I have back at home in Macau. “With the support of BMW Motorrad Motorsport, and my continued passion for BSB, we have altered our approach to run a […]

FHO Racing confirms BSB 2025 presence, riders to be announced

FHO Racing BMW Motorrad’s Team Principal Faye Ho, has confirmed her team will return to the Bennetts British Superbike Championship in 2025, despite recent speculation of the teams’ participation in the series. Confirming the news today at Oulton Park on the grid ahead of the opening race of the weekend, Faye delighted BSB fans with the news that FHO Racing will be back on the grid in 2025. Although details on FHO Racing’s rider line-up is yet to be released, with negotiations still taking place, further news will be announced in due course regarding the teams’ line-up in BSB, as well as on the Roads. Ex-MotoGP team boss Paul Bird passes aged 56

Former MotoGP team boss Paul Bird has died following a short illness, the Englishman passing away at only 56 years old. The Cumbrian chicken farmer has been a hugely significant force in British racing for the past 25 years, with many of the country’s top stars racing for him at some point in the past quarter decade in MotoGP, World and British Superbikes, and at the Isle of Man TT. A former world championship motocross racer in his youth, Paul started sponsoring local racers in the 1990s, with his first success coming with future TT legend John McGuinness when the pair lifted the 1999 250cc British title together, setting up a partnership that would continue on and off for the next 20 years. Bird’s team tasted success at the North West 200, Macau Grand Prix, and Daytona 200, and in road racing with the most successful TT racer ever – Joey Dunlop, who won his last-ever Superbike TT for Bird in 2000.
