Todd holds off charging Dunlop to take Superbike TT win

Davey Todd held off a sustained charge from Michael Dunlop to take a start-to-finish victory in a thrilling Isle of Man TT Superbike race, which was reduced from six laps to four. The 29-year-old had an advantage of just 1.2 seconds over Dunlop by the end of the race, with the fastest lap of the race of 135.327mph on his final circuit helping the 8TEN Racing BMW rider secure the win. For Todd, it is the third TT win of his career, the Yorkshireman having won the Superstock and Senior races at the event in 2024. The two-time British Superstock 1000cc champion built up a 7.9-second lead after lap one and his advantage after the second lap was just marginally less at 7.1 seconds. However, Todd lost six seconds to his rival in the pits and the gap was reduced to 0.2 seconds after the riders went through Glen Helen on the final lap but the eventual victor rallied to secure the success, with Honda Racing’s Dean Harrison a further 43.5 seconds behind in third. “I’m over the moon, this feels sweet. The boys have done a fantastic job,” Todd told Radio TT after the race. “I was more nervous […]

Hickman and Todd split from FHO

FHO Racing has announced new plans for the upcoming BSB season, with Peter Hickman and Davey Todd surprisingly not included. FHO will downsize from two bikes to one in 2025, but will stick with the BMW M1000 RR, as it welcomes Ilya Mikhalchik for this year. BritishSuperbike.com says the change comes as FHO team owner Faye Ho “realigns the team’s efforts to pursue further motorsports activities in new markets with BMW Motorrad Motorsport’s support.” More specifically, Ho intends to continue with her support for women in racing, and “push motorsports activities in Asia”. “I am a strong advocate of the British Superbike Championship, one of the most entertaining and competitive series in the world,” she said. “However, with my long-term goals looking to push motorsports activities in Asia, as well as to keep supporting young women with opportunities in racing, I’ve come to realise I cannot fully commit to the previous levels of time that I have given to BSB and road racing since becoming team owner in 2021 with additional commitments I have back at home in Macau. “With the support of BMW Motorrad Motorsport, and my continued passion for BSB, we have altered our approach to run a […]

Peter Hickman and Davey Todd join forces in 2025

Peter Hickman and Davey Todd will join forces in 2025 for the FHO Racing BMW Motorrad team. Todd is moving across from TAS Racing to link up with Faye Ho’s squad for next year’s British Superbike Championship, and road racing commitments. Todd won the national Superstock title this year and is seeking greater honours in 2025. Todd rode the Superstock-spec BMW M 1000 RR this season with TAS Racing so has experience of FHO Racing’s machinery. Hickman will remain with the team for a fourth consecutive year. Todd said: “I’m really excited to be joining the FHO Racing BMW Motorrad team for 2025 and also the Macau Grand Prix this year. It’s a really exciting time to be moving up to the Superbike class; I don’t feel like I got fair shot when I got my first races in the class, but to now have the opportunity to do it with an awesome team, I feel like it’s a great step for me. “I’m just super excited joining the team, I feel like I’m already starting to build a relationship with the guys just with the first few meetings we’ve had.” Hickman said: “I am mega happy to be staying […]
